The scholars in this direction mainly focus on scientific research in data acquisition, storage, processing, and applications in geological informatization, as well as system design, mission planning, and evaluation of complex spatial information networks, etc. Featured directions has been formed such as multiple-objective optimization and calculation, dynamic modeling of complex geological bodies, efficient and dynamic storage of spatio-temporal data, development of basic software for geological information technology and aerospace tools and so on. There are 26 full-time teachers, including 2 academic leaders and 4 academic backbones. In the past 5 years, they have undertaken 13 national scientific research projects, published 27 SCI papers, published 5 monographs, obtained 7 provincial and ministerial award, and 13 China national invention patents.
